COVID-19 UPDATE: The Firm is Operating Normally & is Experienced in E-Mediation
E-Mediation is just like regular mediation, but it is more convenient and cost-effective. It's online mediation that you can do from the comfort of your home or attorney's office. All you need is a computer, an internet connection, and a webcam. You'll receive an email with a link to a virtual conference room, which is where the online mediation will take place.
Generally, mediation is an cost-effective alternative to litigation where people can have a conversation facilitated by a third party, neutral person (the "mediator") who uses special negotiation techniques to try and help people resolve their dispute.
In a mediation, the disputants make the decisions. They try to agree on a resolution they can all accept. If they reach an agreement, then it's written into a contract. When the parties themselves agree on how to solve their problems, they're committed to following through with their contractual responsibilities (making mediated resolutions highly likely to be upheld).
